The winners of the Dev.Play Awards

In a previous article we already mentioned that Yaga from Breadcrumbs Interactive won the Nordic Game Discovery Contest at Dev.Play 2017. But that was only one of the awards given at the show.

Cristina Neamtu, co-founder of AMC Pixel Factory, won the Outstanding Achievement Award, for the many years that AMC has been a constant presence in the Romanian Games industry, delivering top notch visual projects to the world.

The most expected awards by the indie teams showcasing their games on the show floor were the Indie Expo Awards, with 3 categories: Best Design, Best Visuals and Best Game of the Show.

The winner for Best Design was Raiders of the Lost Island, developed by Alexandru Simion. The game is a local co-op party game where up to 4 players compete in looting treasures from a sinking island, while building a raft to survive the final wave.

The award for Best Visuals went to Yaga from Breadcrumbs Interactive. The game is an action RPG with light rogue-like elements about a one-handed blacksmith sent on an impossible quests by an envious king. What makes it stand apart are its elements from Eastern European folklore and mythology.

And Best Game of the Show was crowned Raiders of the Lost Island, making Alexandru Simion one very happy guy, although slightly surprised at the amount of appreciation his game got from both the jury and the people playing it during the conference.

We congratulate the winners and wish them the best of luck in finishing and releasing their games so we can play them again in their final form!
